Course Outline

Tooth avulsion results in damage to dental and periradicular structures, making its management multifactorial. Permanent tooth avulsion can be particularly dramatic for children and adolescents. This course will look at emergency management at the site and navigate through complications that can happen if the tooth is replanted. Experts will also discuss measures to be taken if the tooth is not replanted and explore treatments to preserve the space for a future implant.

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, participants will:
• Know the emergency procedures to undertake when a patient suffers tooth avulsion
• Understand the complications that may arise after tooth replantation
• Recognize soft and hard tissue as well as esthetic complications with tooth loss in early life
• Understand measures that can be taken to facilitate long-term treatment
• Articulate the differences in treatment options regarding missing teeth
